Safety advice for foreign workers
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has added a new section to its website providing advice and help to people working in Britain from overseas, as well as for employers of overseas workers.
The web-pages aim to help foreign workers discover their rights and responsibilities under health and safety and find information on issues such as working hours, rest breaks and time off. They are available in a number of languages including Polish, Lithuanian, Romanian and Chinese.
Information for employers includes good practice when employing temporary and overseas workers and legal responsibilities.
